AMERICAN SYMPOSIUM VALUES STATEMENT
American Symposium is committed to the past. We ground our purpose in the dirt, brick, and stone paths forged by those who have come before us. We honor the men who sailed across the world, and established what we know today as the Western Hemisphere. We pledge our allegiance to the fabric of the first American flag, sewn in the midst of the most consequential war in modern history. We tirelessly defend these figures and symbols whose reputations have been tarnished and significance has been ignored. We recognize that we would not exist today as a people, a country, or a world, if it was not for the sacrifices made by our ancestors.

American Symposium is dedicated to the present. We find our duty to our fellow man in the bylaws of our citizenship, the oath many of us took at birth or others took by choice. We look not to conflate true liberty with selfish desire, but to advance the messages of freedom and individuality, the two most seminal building blocks on which people construct promising lives. We concern ourselves not with acceptance or approval of the culture around us, but charge forward with the spirit of what we know to be right ingrained deeply in our hearts and souls.

American Symposium is bound to the future. We strongly believe in coming prosperity, yet are aware of the conditions it comes with. This is what fuels our hope for the coming generations and reminds us that what we do on this day is crucial to the formation of the days to come. We feel a sense of cautious optimism, that what we must do right now will continue the prosperity our ancestors handed down to us. Not only must we work hard for our children and our children’s children, but we must teach them to love their savior and homeland, just like we learned to do for ourselves.

Most importantly, American Symposium is devoted to the eternal. We find our value in heaven, knowing that our ultimate end is what gives us the goodness we are commanded to share. We know that if all comes crumbling around us, we will always be able to look up, empowered by our Creator. We believe that it is of utmost importance to place our faith before everything we do. It is not a burden, but a weight we can both lean on for support and use to defend our world against the forces of evil, and all those who have succumbed to it.
